The collar.

The Model is wearing a rounded collar blouse from Giordano, an essential black Minky dress and flats from Target. The inspiration for the collar may come from the victorian style doll, where dolls wear cute dresses with a school girl collar. Lolita fashion may also influence the 'innocent'-looking collar.

The collar has been paraded in many of the latest highend fashion shows and has even been spotted in the 2011 hollywood film'True Grit', starring Jeff Bridges and Matt Damon. The A/W Louis Vuitton describes this trend as, "butter-wouldnt-melt-buttoned-up-dresses teamed with the sunday best white collars". Although the collar is seen universally, through research, I found Louis Vuitton had the most consistent use of collars in the latest collection. The model's sunday best collar is a dipiction of a current runway trend.

The Transparent.

The Model is wearing a vintage corporate skirt found at an op shop and a synthetic transparent lace-embroided top worn backwards, also found at an op shop. It appears as if the GFC influenced fashion has lived on. During the crisis, consumers found themselves salvaging through thrift shop bins, without knowledge they have found some gold nuggets that grandma used to wear! This outfit is both cheap and very up to date in the fashion world

Transparent materials can vary from a sturdier transparent organza from givenchy to a softer sexier ease from stella Mcartney. Mcartney has married hard and soft elements in the latest A/W colleciton. the soft element being the transparent ivory tulle, and the hard element being a structural item like a blazer or corporate wear. The model has a similar theme in her outfit. a structural corporate worn with a juxtaposed transparent lace-embroided top. The use of transparent material is seen on many runways. This model showcases current trents from highend fashion shows.

The choker.

The model is wearing a black maxi skirt from Dissh, a white cotton singlet from Jeans West and a black leather choker that used to be a skinny tie. it is held together with safety pins. She is also wearing a Minky scarf which also has a choker effect. This dark ensemble is inspired from the gothic fashion, and perhaps even medieval style with a modern twist of punk.

The choker is the main attraction. This gothic influenced accessory has been seen on the highfashion runways, and is especially emphasied in Alexander Mqueen designs. As Mqueen is considered a leading brand in the fashion world, dramatic chokers appear to be the direction in which winter fashion is moving. The look, according to Mqueen is 'Ice queen in her court'. of course black is typical of the A/W colour theme.
